2025 General Assembly of the Staff Association

We can’t stress this enough: the General Assembly (GA) is the supreme body of the Staff Association (SA). It is notably responsible for:
- Discussing and approving the activity report and financial report prepared and presented by the Executive Committee;
- Ratifying any amendments to the Statutes adopted by the Staff Council;
- Defining the overall direction of the Association’s work and fulfilling any other functions in accordance with the Statutes;
- Approving, with or without amendments, the membership contribution rates and the budget recommended by the Staff Council.
This year was no exception, all of these points were addressed, including a vote on amendments to the Statutes of the Staff Association.
The General Assembly is, as always, a key moment for all members of the Association to get informed about the full scope of the Association’s activities and achievements over the past year.
It is also an opportunity, through your votes, to approve the actions taken by the Association during the past year, and to endorse the work programme for the year ahead.
This year, the 2024 activity report was jointly presented by Almudena Solero and Joël Lahaye, both Vice-Presidents of the Association. The past year was intense, and the work accomplished was considerable.
The 2025 work programme was presented by Isabelle Mardirossian, President of the Association.
Finally, the 2024 financial report and the 2025 provisional budget were presented by John Apostolakis, Treasurer of the Association.
It is highlighting that, following the recommendation of the Staff Council, the General Assembly approved that the membership contribution rates for 2025 will remain unchanged for 2026. As a reminder, the contribution rate for permanent AP members with indefinite contracts has remained unchanged for 22 years, while the last revision of the rates for associated members, LDs, and Fellows dates back to 2015. A clear reflection of our commitment to maintaining stable contributions for our members!
The proposed amendments to the Statutes, unanimously approved, concerned both:
- Reorganising certain articles without altering their content or form, in order to bring more coherence and clarity to the Statutes.
- Clarifying the principles and practical procedures governing cooptation, the composition and election of the Executive Committee, the role of the Electoral Commission, among others.
We warmly thank all Staff Association members for the trust you have placed in us, by unanimously supporting, through your votes, all items on the agenda, as well as our past actions and the 2025 work programme.
We hope to see even more of you next year!
