General Assembly

The General Assembly is the supreme organ of the Staff Association. It takes place during the first half of each year. Any member of the Association may attend and participate in the General Assembly.

Competencies

During the Ordinary General Assembly, the activity and financial reports of the Staff Association are presented and submitted for approval to the members. This is the occasion to get a global view on the activities of the Staff Association, its management, and an opportunity to express your opinion, particularly by taking part in votes.

The General Assembly is also competent to ratify any amendments to the Statutes adopted by the Staff Council, set out the bases of the general action of the Association and approve, after any amendments, the membership fees and the budget recommended by the Staff Council.

Its jurisdiction extends also to all other points proposed by the Staff Council, and all the written items proposed by the members of the Association according to the provisions hereof.

Who can vote?

Ordinary members (Employed members of personnel) of the Staff Association can take part in all votes. Associated members (Associated members of personnel) of the Staff Association and/or affiliated pensioners have a right to vote on those topics that are of direct interest to them.

Who can give their opinion, and how?

The Ordinary General Assembly is also the opportunity for members of the Staff Association to express themselves through the addition of discussion points to the agenda. For these points to be subjected to a vote, the request must be introduced in writing to the President of the Staff Association, at least 20 days before the General Assembly, and by at least 20 members of the Staff Association. Additionally, members of the Staff Association can ask the Ordinary General Assembly to have a discussion on a specific point, after expiration of the agenda, but no decision shall be taken based on these discussions.

Can we contest the decisions?

Any decision taken by the Ordinary General Assembly can be contested through a referendum as defined in the Statutes of the Staff Association.

See the Statutes of the Association for more information.
